This Privacy Policy explains what information HotPot101.com ("we", "us", "this site") collects when you visit, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using this site you agree to the practices described here.
Information We Collect
1. Information you provide
- AI tool queries. When you use the Ingredient Decoder, Can I Hot Pot It?, or Hot Pot Builder AI report, the text you submit is processed to generate your answer. Queries are stored with a hashed (non-reversible) version of your IP address, solely to enforce rate limits and prevent abuse.
- Email. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to tell us. We use it only to reply.
2. Information collected automatically
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate traffic patterns (pages visited, approximate location, device type, referral source). GA4 receives your IP address but we do not enable advertising features or cross-site tracking.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider keeps standard access logs for security and troubleshooting.
We do not collect sensitive personal information, we do not require an account, and we never sell your personal data.
Cookies
This site uses minimal cookies: analytics cookies from Google Analytics 4 (expiration varies) and a session cookie used only for basic site functionality. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will continue to work.
Third-Party Services
- Google Analytics 4 — aggregate traffic analytics. Google's privacy policy.
- AI providers — AI tool queries are sent to our AI processing provider (DeepSeek) to generate answers. Query text is transmitted for processing; we do not send your IP address or any identifier with it beyond what the provider requires to respond.
- External links — some pages link to third-party sites. Once you leave this site, that site's privacy policy applies. See our Affiliate Disclosure.

Data Retention
AI query logs (hashed IP, query text, token counts) are retained for up to 12 months, then deleted. Analytics data is retained per Google Analytics' default retention settings. Server logs are retained by our host for a short security window.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live (including the EU/EEA under GDPR, the UK, and California under CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to file a complaint with your local regulator. Because we collect very little data, the fastest route is simply to email us at [email protected] and we will handle it. California residents: we do not "sell" or "share" personal information as defined by the CCPA.
Children's Privacy
This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
If we change this policy materially, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the revised policy.
